But then, Joe, why was it that when the car was restored it turned out that even the suspension was only tacked-welded in place, various parts just hanging. It was never finishing to a point where even if the engine was installed, the car itself could not have been driven. Even the firewall didn't have room for the rear-facing distributors, that had to be worked out in the restoration.

    Hey -- I'm not arguing ... I'm just sayin' ;^D

    All good points Fred.

    I haven't a clue, and I must confess that's probably because I haven't seriously studied this subject matter. At least when I don't know, I say I don't know!

There was an engine inside during the construction and the presentation at Sant'Agata, confirmed by pictures at Sargiotto and Sant'Agata.

During my first interview with Stanzani, he talked to me about the tiles but when I discovered there was an engine inside, I called him back (Stanzani was not the only one to talk about the tiles). He confirmed to me there is an engine inside, a mock-up, a non-running piece, just the engine block without cylinders but with the trumpets of the carburetors to show the dimensions.

Why then putting tiles inside the engine compartment 10 days later at Torino's show after the presentation in Sant'Agata (if any place was left to put them) ?

Stanzani told me the tiles were put since the mock-up wasn't heavy enough to keep the car's front down. But to me, during the presentation at Sant'Agata 10 days before, the car does not seem that high from the ground to justify this decision and we are sure during that occasion there were no tiles and the lid was opened (see picture in the last book about Ferruccio by Tonino), but at Torino they kept the engine compartment closed ...

Was the engine removed during those 10 days but why then ?

Since there was an engine on display in Torino it might well be that they took this mock up out of the car and it was displayed, then the whole history with the tiles makes sense...

During the presentation, there was already the presentation set-up for the engine. It was exposed with engine outside the factory, while on the test benches an engine was running.

That was a very beautiful car when you think that it must have been designed in 1963 or even maybe 1962. I believe the Company was started in 1963 but not sure how long it took to set the Company up.

Even these to pictures of the centre console are different to the original or change and an upgraded as the car went through a early transition period..

Photos I have seen show a large clock and a stereo , another has no clock but ashtray but also has 2 large s twist type knobs on either side of the centre console....

The photo you display, with the mirrors and car on the carpet. To the right of that photo sat a lady at a desk along some gentlemen plus the engine , all just out of that shot..

I've looked at page 26 & 27, can you be more explicit ?

I'm curious to know what is the point you want to show...

Yes, there is a engine stand with the desk.
Yes, there is a desk and 2 sofachairs, you have the carpet on the floor...
Engine pic was taken from the front of engine, so with the mirrors on photographer's back
350 GTV back picture shows the plots on the right side that can also be seen in the other angle pic of the car...

Is it the funny mistakes quiz program...

No Olivier, chill it was just to say hey the guy that took the photos back in the day did lots of angles which some have been printed in books and some have not but been passed onto people like your good self..

Like the other pictures on here with the 350 GTV, if you look in the Rob De La Rive Box book page 13 is the same people at the press conference but from a nice up angle...
