http://www.godinbanks.com/stocklist.html Does anyone know about this 3500 for sale in the UK - French Registered? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I looked at that one in England 3 weeks ago, it was purchased from the dealer out of France. The dealer claims its a decent driver. Probably late 1964 You need to really have an engine check on this one. This car still has it FI and if not constantly monitored, gas and oil mixture often takes place Get a compression check and if you are serious about this one. Factor in that you will probably want to convert to webers. Not to forget the pain and interior is needed....
The Lucas FI unit is totally realiable and sound, it just needs to be maintained. (which most of them weren't in the era). There is no need to convert the car to Webers, unless you really like Weber carbs. Rebuild and maintain your injection system, you'll be fine. Compression AND leak down test are important. Good luck! Ciao and best! ~Trev
I have a 1963 3500GTi for sale. Converted to Webers (properly done with 42DCOE). Very nice silver paint and chrome. Superb original red leather, carpets were redone. Disc brakes all around and 5-speed. Recent engine rebuilt. Colors and numbers match factory records. One of the nicest around. What about them?? I thought the early cars had the script hubcaps and the later cars had these. I know the script hubcaps are available but I think they would be wrong on this car. Perhaps someone else can shed some light. Ivan
I have factory photos of a 1964 3500 GTIS and a 3500 GTI with the "trident" hubcaps. I always thought the "trident" caps were originally used on the Quattroporte and Mistral, but apparently "trident" caps were used at will, or special order, or when they ran out of "script" hubcaps. Ciao and best! ~Trev
Ivan, I assume this is the car you had told me about. Does it have a tool kit? What is its history? Asking price? Thanks.
