I was checking out this prototype 3500 today, and noticed the mirrors. Any leads on where to get some? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That looks just like the chrome bullet mirror that MIE sells. I have one on my Mexico (non-original, as the Mexico came with no mirror)- am unsure what is period correct for the 3500, but many cars of this era were not originally fitted with external mirrors.
Thanks for the replies. I've heard of the Talbot, and I'll inspect closer to see if I can view a brand name. Would anyone know the exact era for this style Talbot mirror? I'm wondering what would be correct for the mid '50s, like the red '56 250 GT pictured next to this white prototype 3500 GT. Many Thanks, RF.
I'm afraid I don't know of a Blake Stevens. The car is currently in the SF Bay Area, and somewhat recently purchased (some 2-3 years maybe?).
Actually that's not his car. His was or is a prototype Sebring, also white. Seen here. https://www.conceptcarz.com/view/photo/699756,13908,1/1961-maserati-sebring-i-prototype_photo.aspx
I have a pair of these mirrors which you can have free of charge Image Unavailable, Please Login if you're still looking. I removed them from my 1960 3500GT as I wanted a cleaner profile to the car. They're not branded (I don't know if they should be) so I don't know if they were original to the car or not. I've attached a photo.
Drat! I was just in London, before I hoped down to the big meet in Bologna! I'm home now, recouping from it all! I'd be nuts to turn this down! Thank You, I will PM you with my details. Many Thanks, RF.
