    I seem to remember another car manufacturer that used the same valve shims as the 3500? Was it a certain model Jaguar? Or am I dreaming?

    Jaguar XK engine shims (E-type, XJ6, etc) have the same diameter but are thinner. In many cases they will work.

    Terry's Jaguar Parts in Kalamazoo, Michigan sells oversize Tappet Shims in various thicknesses (Thicker than stock Jag sizes). I purchased them for my Sebring Engine rebuild some years back.

    Terry's Jaguar Parts in Kalamazoo, Michigan sells oversize Tappet Shims in various thicknesses (Thicker than stock Jag sizes). I purchased them for my Sebring Engine rebuild some years back.

    It appears that Terry's Jaguar parts are no more!

    That's Stinks, they still have a website, but it appears the number is disconnected.. Some of the other Jag parts suppliers had a few oversize tappet shims, but Terry's by far had the most abundant offering at a reasonable price. I wonder if another parts supplier bought up their stock. Terry's was owned by Engle Imports, but their number also appears to be disconnected. Sorry for the false lead.

    They have tappet shims on their website and most likely have Terry's stock. You have to search for Tappet Shim, as I couldn't find them on the normal engine parts page. The listing seems shorter than what Terry's had some years back
