Does anyone have a good supplier for the Pirelli 185VR 16 Cinturato CA67 Tires? I would also consider Vredestein Classic Sprint 185 HR 16 tires. I have the Vredestein's on my Mitchell L Mitchell 3500 and they seem to perform very well. Any thoughts from the group would be helpful. I am being told there are no Pirellis available here in the USA. Ciao, FGM
Thanks for posting this Frank. I am currently looking for the same tires. I am yet to find a decent price in the US. This is the best that I have found...http://www.cokertire.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=185R16
Did you check with Lucas Classic Tires? They are the Longstone Tire distributor in the USA. http://www.lucasclassictires.com/pirelli_cinturato.html Ivan
I have found Vredestein's available for $329 each in 185 HR 16. I have an email into Longstone Tire distributors in the UK. Ivan I talked with Lucas and they say NO STOCK on Pirellis then wanted to push me to buy Blockley tires, to which I said NO Blockley, NO Brussels sprouts! Just Pirellis or Vredesteins. We will see what happens tomorrow. Ciao, FGM
Not sure about Lucas, but my experience buying Michelin Pilote Xs for my A6 from Longstone was excellent. The delivered cost to my local US post office was about 20% below Coker's quote, and the tires arrived in perfect condition within a few days (although it was a bit strange collecting tires from the post office). Most of these old sizes are made sporadically in small batches, so it's a good idea to ask for the date codes which are stamped on the sidewall. Longstone's tires were fresher, too. Lots of people seem to like Vredsteins, but I find Pirellis and Michelins more precise and communicative when driven hard.
Hi Fank, are they for show or go? I have a set of origianl Cinturatos and some other Cinturatos that are OK for show or go, but maybe a little stiff. ~Ciao and best!
Just wanted a set of Cinturatos 185R16 from Longstone for my Mistral Spyder. They are out of stock and no indication as to when they will get them again. Cheers, P
Blockley tires are great also. Made by race-nut and Maserati-T26-, Alfa Romeo 308-, Bugatti T51- (etc., etc., etc., ...) owner Julian Majzub who co-owns the company.
I'm the owner of a 3500 GTI Touring and I've experiences of two of these type of tyres. When I bought it in 2005, the car was equipped with four Pirelli Cinturato 185-16 still in quite good condition. One year after, I decided to change them because I wasn't totally satisfied of those tyres and I didn't feel safe especially on the wet. Being a purist on restoration, I firstly tried to buy four new Pirelli Cinturato but ,unfortunately, I couldn't find an available set in a reasonable and predictable time. So, after many doubts I decided to buy four new Michelin 6.00 R 16 PILOT X TT 88W, despite the expensive price. A modern tyre under with a shape correctly vintage as the Pirelli Cinturato even if it looks like an old Englebert. Now I can say that I've made a good choice because the tyre is excellent in every condition. Ciao Andrea Image Unavailable, Please Login
I use the Vredestein on my 3500. For me they perform well. I drove a GTI with Avon tyres wich make far less rolling noise compared to the Vredestein. When i got back in my own 3500 i decided that this is a reason i might not choose them again. The only problem is that these Vredestein tyres refuse to wear, even after 45k km! Ruud
