Bled the brakes on the challenge car, before we took it to the tracl last week, and during my first bleed, didn't know that the ingnition key needed to be on to bleed the system (thanks John),

So now the brake pedal still feels spongy and although i have not driven the car, other have, if you push on the brakes hard, the pedal seems to want to come back up!!

spoke to the PO and he indicated that he did disconnect the abs when he had the car, but its re-attached.

Is there a proceedure i am missing to get this thing back on track??

    thanks

Did you use the Ferrari SD1 tester when you bled the brakes, if you didn't then all you have bled in the basic braking system.

By using the SD1 it energises and opens the solenoid valves in the ABS unit and allows a complete bleed of the braking system.

I don't know if there is a way round this, but there are few guys who post here that may have a solution to not using the SDI tester

I'd like to hear from others if there is a way around it, and or is there a way to get a "SD1" (what is it by the way) or borrow one?

    thanks again

SD1 stands for Systems Diagnosis, 1 = version one, there are now SD2 and SD3's.

Because of the cost of the machine and the software to run it the vast majority of the testers are to be found at the official Ferrari repair shops.
