Anyone had this happen? Drove my 355 about 150 miles today. Flawless. Get her home and back into the garage. I need to lift her onto wheel dollies and move her over. I rased one wheel on the dolly - no issue. Went to raise the second wheel up but as soon as the dolly touched the wheel, the alarm went off - not even raised. It would not shut off with the fob. I was able to start the car and it still would not shut off. I needed to shut off the battery cutoff to get the alarm to stop and that took about 20 seconds after the cut off. Turned the battery switch back on and the alarm started up again. Had to shut the battery switch off again to stop the alarm. If working properly, the alarm should shut off with the fob but it didn't. The car should be imobalized with the alarm going off but it wasn't. Any ideas on the issue and how to correct?
I torget what they call it Its the antilift sensor. Likely malfunctioning once you set it down it should reset.
Would it be a good idea to always turn battery isolation point to OFF? If your going to lift the car? This is a question not a cheeky comment as I'm interested to what peoples thoughts are. I noticed my dash light comes on after my car has been jacked up but after its driven the light goes out.
Well i have. It also went off once when i had my car inthe trailer towing it from the bumps. Only happened once when jacking
As dave said doesnt allways happen. I usually turn it off but not all ways. Oth r than the alarm possibility it wont hurt anything
Top right hand corner of pilot lights. It's like a picture of the car with the wheels hanging down. It's more like long shockers than wheels really. Bit hard to explain. I'm pretty sure it's the anti lift light? Maybe not
The anti lift is not active unless you have the alarm set. Maybe don’t jack up your car with the alarm on. I know that doesn’t help the OP but might prevent someone getting in the same place in the future.
Alarm or immobilizer? I know my immobilizer has always been active because it self arms but you are correct, my alarm has always been unarmed.
Yes, the alarm. If the alarm is set and turned on and the car is supposed to be sitting still then the tilt sensor is active and it will set off the alarm if the car is jostled/ lifted. If the alarm is not set then you can flip the car upside down and nothing will happen. (When all is functioning normally). Like you said the alarm and the immobilizer are different things so that’s why he can still shut the immobilizer off and start the car even though the alarm is going off. He’s got some issues with his alarm though since no matter how he set it off he should be able to get it to shut down with the fob.
My advice to the OP is to turn the battery switch back on and walk away. Let the alarm go off, most will cycle through and it will shut itself off. Then go back and use your fob to set and unset the alarm before touching the car.
I may try that. It waw 10:00 at night when it was going off so i didnt want to piss off the neighbors. I may turn the battery master on this Saturday and see what happens. In any case its a relatively new battery, had driven 150 miles so it should have been fully charged and it had been on a tender prior to the drive. I dont recall setting the alarm and i have jacked the car up many times without any issue.
