Hi, the black key fob I used dropped on the floor and popped open. I snapped it shut and now it does not work. I have another black fob which works fortunately as well as a red one. I am a 5 week Ferrari owner and I haven't gotten my owner's manual yet. Any ideas? What is the red fob for? Thanks!

Whoa, I popped it open again and see that the battery is missing. Must have lost it when it opened the first time. Anyone know what kind of batter this is? Does the fob need to be re-programmed if the battery is replaced. Thanks again. George

I would tell you what kind of battery it takes, but my FOB is at Mark's getting cloned. No, I doubt that the FOB needs to be reprogramed just because the battery came out, as I have taken my battery out and put it back in, and the FOB worked fine.

There is no difference between the Red and the Black FOB as far as parts, BUT the Red FOB is necessary to reprogram the immobilizer (do a search under FOB and you will see a ton of posts about the difference of the FOBs). For both FOBs to work, the Red and the Black Fob need to be a matching pair EXCEPT, if you get one cloned from Gobble (Mark). Then both FOBs will be identical.

I can't recall the battery type - its probably been posted here before if you look otherwise but just pop open your red and take a look - you won't lose programming
