Hi all, Got a bit of a problem here with the F1 system on my 1998 F355. Seems something is not working as it should. After the engine has gotten all warm and everything is running smoothly, I give it a bit of a boost. Shifts up to 3rd gear and let it climb from around 3000 rpm and upwards. When it reaches above like 5-6000rpms it starts blinking but still keeps giving me power, I then shift up to 4th, let it climb up to 5-6000rpms and it starts blinking there too. Shifts up to 5th and I can go how high I want without seeing any blinking from what I know on 5th and 6th. Is there any connection with the gears 3 and 4? Any common things? I've already had it at a workshop, and they ran it through diagnostics and drived it for a little bit but weren't able to find any problems with it... thou I can proudly produce this error if need be. The problems seemed to start after I had the car in for a service and they changed an O-ring on the F1 gearsystem (because of a leak)... So I don't know what else to check now, need some hints on what it could be just to get it checked out -- Geir / Norway

He is the guy to ask, though I believe he is the manager at Lambo Carolinas now (sister dealer). Either way, calling SA will get you there. Daniel at Ricambi also handles the rebuilds, assuming it is the shift indicator that is failing.
Just got my gear indicator back from Steve last week. Steve is professional and most important, the indicator work great now.
So if it's blinking on the 3rd and 4th gear, but not on any other of the gears at special revs, it doesn't mean anything? The instrument was replaces in April last year and has worked perfectly up until now.
Sounds like the indicator is working fine; I think the blinking indicates some kind of error, especially if it's repeatable.
Could be wrong but after dealing with mine I can tell you that the actuator at the tranny has a (gear position) sensor mounted to it which provides signals to the TCU/indicator. You may have something wrong with certain gear selections only. Also, turn car on and see how frequent the pump cycles, when selecting gears prior to my pump failure I could make it through first and second on accumulator pressure then I would get a blinking trans light due to low pressure at the pump. (Pump could not keep up) This was also hard to duplicate for a while and also did not show errors on the SD2.
