well, the cliff notes are simply that my brakes went out the other night. When i push down on the pedal it goes straight to the floor with little resistance. Only with the pedal fully depressed do I get any bite. What things should i do to troubleshoot and diagnose the problem?

    Thanks

    John

Sounds like the obvious, fluid issue but.....

Did this occur one time during a drive or are you saying that you have no brakes at all since this occurance?

    1. When you start the car, does the ABS pump prime and does the
"BRAKE" light go off in the dash? On pre-ignition, the ABS pump should run
for 30 seconds to a minute and then shut off. (buzzing sound, from right infront
    of the drivers seat.

The brake fluid res. is under the non clip panel in the front, directly
in front of the driver (between the wheel and driver) It doesnt look
like its supposed to come off, but slides right off. Check your manual.

Brake light stays on, or pump keeps on running?

Did you find the brake fluid?

Besides being an abs valve/electronic problem you could have a simple failure like a leaky master, tons of air in the system to bleed, a broken or loose nipple at a wheel. Check the obvious like that first. Also, you can read the ABS trouble codes. I am not sure where the trigger is for that in the 355. In 348s there is an open fuse holder under the front fascia on the ABS computer
