    my 355 has the most awful gas smell, my wife says it burns her eyes. my cs with fabspeed cat pypass pipes does not have a bad smell much at all. i have no idea what kind of bypass pipes my mechanic put on my 355, but could an inferior product be the result of such a bad gas smell?

    smell inside the cabin? I would doubt its the exhaust and more likely a fuel leak.

    +1. Wasn't there a recent Thread where someone had a fire due to a leaking fuel rail and/or fuel injector? Also, carefully check the rubber union on the fuel filler neck. According to Dave Helms, that is a major source on fuel leaks on many models of Ferrari.

    my bad, i should have clarified, no smell in the cabin. just outside the car like when i crank it to warm it up and then go to get in it.

    I dunno if it's just the 355's and the massive amounts of fuel they burn but mine really smells fumey when you first fire it up. The garage is like a gas chamber. After warm up and driving though it's fine.

    Sounds normal then. My friend said he gets a headache driving behid my decatted F355.

    A 355 with no cats will burn your eyes in just a few seconds. Its amazing how much crap those cats catch. I was watching Massimo Conti (watching this guy work is like watching Ovechkin play hockey...a pleasure) working on a 360 a couple of weeks ago and it was running indoors with the big door open and no smell whatsoever even after idling for a good 20 minutes. If you look at the size of the cats on a 360, its no wonder you dont smell a thing.

    yeah that smell may be more than she'd be willing to put up with.
