    Heya guys.

I bought a "brand new" set (advertised as such) of Calipers from one of the biggest F car part suppliers on the internet (won't name names at this stage).

They were advertised and sold as brand new, ex factory.

I'm suspicious though. Would you expect brand new calipers to have their rubber boots (that go over the bleed nipples) painted? It looks like the bleed nipples & rubber covers were inserted and then the caliper was painted. Just doesn't look right to me.. Very suspicious.

    Came in OE boxes though.

As I said from one of the biggest suppliers out there, and they swear blind they're new.

I can't quite make out whether the calipers have decals on them or not (ex factory don't), as I can only just barely detect a bump where the letters meet the paint.

    Pistons look fine.

From factory the bleed nipple covers are painted. The factory Ferrari logo is screen printed on not decal, it has no raised edge. Post a picture for more feedback.

Thanks, that's a relief. Why on earth would the rubbers be painted? Just the way they are manufactured? Paint with everything assembled?

I'm going to measure the "ferrari" logo on the old vs new to be sure. The new ones do feel ever so tiny raised (but barely perceptible) , but it might just be the paint - very similar feel to my old original ones in any event.

Just seems so strange to me that they'd paint over rubber. Seems like somebody sloppily did it during a rebuild.

Good thing I have some brand new nipples and boots ready to go on them.

These are so perfect I'm not sure now I even want to use them.

    Yes it's a sickness.
