Just got an e-mail from the printer .. the next lot will leave their place on Dec 28th and be in Houston ~ 3 days later. So, I'd reckon on having all the outstanding pieces in the mail a day or two later.

    Best regards,

    Pete

Here it is... the color difference is acentuated because of the flash. In normal driving situation...the color difference is marginal. Looks great!

Thanks to everyone who sent me a note saying they appreciated the work I did on the overlay bit. It really wasn't a mammoth amount, but I'm glad so many poeple are pleased.

Maybe next year someone can 'do' by-pass valves!

    Everyone have a great Xmas.

    Pete,

You did a great job. I purchased one when I thought you needed enough for a good group discount. I really didn't need it (not yet, anyway). I guess you've got plenty of interest now.

    That's great...

    Have a Happy Holiday

Pete - Many thanks for all your efforts. I moved over to the other side, but gave the new owner the 2nd one you sent me for a back up.

    Hi Pete
any chance you have more of these console replacement parts? I'm from Singapore - saw it on Lung7707's car and it looks fantastic - my 95 355 needs it badly!

No worries, I'd just like to see the final results again, mine is bubbling and I'd like to fix it. Your solution sounds good.

Is this piece a 355 effort cut to fit, or was it a new one?

    Regards,

    Pete,

Thanks a million for all of your hard work on this piece. I installed mine and it is a huge improvement. I used the idea of a green transparent folder vs. a green sharpie and it looks very nice.

However, I'm having a problem getting the a/c console to line up straight with the ash tray and the shifter gate piece (they are 3 seperate pieces that just fit together before you screw in the coin holder). The a/c console that has its nice new finish is lining up off-center leaving a slight open slot on the left between it and the leather edge of the console. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Jerry,

Can you post a picture? As I recall when I did mine, there was quite a bit of 'slop' in the fittings that everyhting was 'adjustable'. Is the new plastic bit on dead straight?

    Regards,

    Pete

Here are 2 pictures I just took. As you can see. I already lifted the lexon piece off the A/C control unit and straightened it up as much as possible and then stuck it back on. There's not much play because the holes for the buttons are so tight. As you can see, it's a little off-kilter. It's most visible on the left side.

    Jerry,

It looks as though the surrounding pieces (north & south) of the lexon bit are warped. Mine fits alsmost perfectly... very square... in fact, the Lexon bit is totally square at the corners so it should fit perfectly.

I'll post a picture of mine when I get home (~1 week).

Did anyone else have this problem?

Anyone care to post a picture of the finished product so Jerry can see?

    Regards,

    Pete

I susupect it's the wiring harness that's pushing it up and off center. It's pretty "beefy". Remove ashtray, stick you hand under there and wiggle the harness while pushing down on the consol with the other hand untill it aligns straight. Then lock it down with the ash tray screw. 5 minute fix.

Yeah, I thought about the wiring harness too and tried to reposition it several ways to no avail. The A/C console matches up w/ the shifter piece north of the A/C console but it's not alligning w/ the ashtray. BTW, the ashtray is flat against the A/C console even though it does warp up a little bit.

    Jerry,

Did you cut the Lexon piece to fit? You shouldn't have to, but in the pics it looks a bit rough around the edges.... especially the sides.

Pete, you're right, the pic does look like I had to cut it. But no, I did not. The top picture looks that way probably because of the way the flash bounced off of the edge between the Lexon piece and the actual console beneath it. In the 2nd picture you can see that it's straight.
