I think the whole issue is what you are going to do with your Challenge or tribute Challenge car. If your intention is to race it, then by God do it with the most modern and safest materials and equipment you can get. That older stuff was barely legal for racing and only conformed to the Ferrari Challenge series rules of the time. Plus having possibly been smacked around by gentleman racers, as FBB suggests, doesn't do much for the integrity of those systems. Do you really want to risk your life with a 20 year old roll cage or fire suppression system of unknown experience? It's like wearing a Snell 2000 helmet. Might work when you need it; might not.

You can enjoy your vintage Challenge car in Ferrari's vintage Challenge series, except that you probably want better safety stuff as far as the series will let you. I can't remember if they are requiring more modern standards now for the series.

For track days and posing, the stock stuff should enough. Assuming you're not going to hooligan the car during these demonstration/education events. For street driving, hey go for it in whatever legal form is allowed by your county or state. Just remember you are in an old race car equipped with stuff that might be obsolete.
