    Hi,

What is the value of a good set of magnesium 355 challenge rims that need to be repainted.

What is the best way to repaint them? Powder coat or some specific paint?

What is a reasonable estimate on the painting cost.

I did a web and Fchat search and came up a little dry on pricing. I know the aluminum sets retail for ~3,500 new.

    Thanks,

    -Mike

All 355 Challenge rims, made by Speedline, are magnesium (as are the stock 355 rims, for that matter). If you shop around carefully, you can find new(ish) rims for about $1600-$2k a set. Refinishing/painting by a good bodyshop will run $150-$250 per wheel, not including mounting/balancing costs. If someone wants to sell a decent used set, I'm more than happy to pay $1k for 'em! :)

    vty,

Thanks for the information - that jives with my guess. I ask because a sale on my 308 may include a set of rims coming my way (that need paint).
