I have only owned my 97 355 for a month or so, put maybe 400 miles on it. So started this morning, warmed it up for 10 minutes .... No warning lights. After driving a few blocks the " check engine" light came on. Stopped the car and waited a few minutes and restarted, engine light on and stays on. So before I panic and ship it off to the shop for a few grand any ideas.......?
I did bring it home and shut it off, then turned the battery disconnect knob to turn off all power to the car. If this is even a possible fix how long should I leave it off before turning it on.
And then we have the 10-15 minute idle to reset everything .... Hopefully or am I barking up the wrong tree.......?
Any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance.
Fabspeed headers, Nouvalari cats and exhaust installed.

You should not have disconnected the battery, as now you have cleared the fault memory in the engine injection ECU. So now you will have no idea what caused the check engine light to come on, until it comes on again. You will either have to use a generic scanner or Ferrari diagnostic computer to check the fault memory to see why the light came on in the first place once it comes on again.

Disconnecting the battery is not a fix for the car, nor is it a good way to diagnose the problem, and it erases all of the learned values for the injection system.

I don't think the OBD2 codes can be cleared with disconnecting the battery, but it is not going to help it either. Get a code reader, hook it up, and read what the problem is.
