A few questions.... I have a 97 355 6 speed. I think it may be time for a new clutch. On my diablo, the previous owner had a kevlar clutch installed. It was quite heavy but I liked it. Has anybody used an aftermarket clutch in their 355? If so, where did you buy it, cost, and how does it compare stock from ferrari? What did everyone pay on average for installation? Does it require an engine out for replacement? Can any knowledgble shop replace one of these clutches, or does it take a Ferrari tech?
Replacing the clutch is very easy on 348 and 355because all at the rear. Although you do need to remove rear bumper as well on 355. There is plenty of info on this site about how to do it, should just take couple hours. But also do check your flywheel is flat. The kevlar plates, if properly done, give you far greater longevity and a great take up. in short they give ceramic quality without the high wear and sudden take up.
