    It has been a while since I checked it. When I did today, (after it had cooled down, but still warm) I found that it was down about 2 1/2 inches from the top of the 'filler'. Or another way of saying it - my screw driver showed about 3/4" of coolant. Where should it be? Assuming it wants an inch or so replenishment, I'll further assume that water is fine, and baby won't complain and want some magic greenish chianti?

    I think that's about right, i usually leave about 1 inch from bottom otherwise it tends to overflow if you get it hot

    I think the manual says that when you open the cap at normal room temperature, you should see the coolant barely in the neck.

    One knuckle with your index finger. Sounds to me like your right on at 3/4 inch

    As long as there is fluid in the expansion tank when the car is cool then the system is full. I usually kept about an inch deep in mine. It definitely needs a couple inches of expansion room or it just ends up dribbling all the time when the engines up to temp.
