I am preparing to put my cylinder heads to be put back on and wondering about cylinder head sealants.

    Front cam seals:
It looks like my from cam seals had some kind of sealant on them. Usually these seals are put on dry.

    Front cam o-rings
It looks like there was sealant between the o-ring, where the cam cover meets the head. Looks to be put on right before putting the cam covers on.

    Cam covers-
Looks to be some at the corners under the cam cover seal
    Rear cam covers-
Seem to be put on dry.

There isn't any details about this in the fsm, so any help would be appreciated.

I use the grey honda sealant I bought at a honda dealer. It worked great. Before that, I used "the right stuff" but had some seepage.

The only spot I used sealant (Hondabond) was at the front of the cam covers where the gasket is “broken” at the cam pulley area. That part will leak without a sealant. The other seals/gaskets (IMO) don’t require sealant.
