    Hello Fellow F-Chatters,

Has anyone had any dealings with Jamie at carztuff.com? I order a pair of stainless door sill inserts on 3/15/2010. He responded via email on 3/17/2010 that he received my order and expected to ship in 2-3 weeks. On 6/14/2010 I emailed him to inquire what the shipment status was and he responded that the shop that makes these for him was very busy and he expected to ship in "a few weeks". To date I still have not received these parts.

I am disappointed that this guy has not delivered if anyone has had an experience, either good or bad, with this guy I would appreciate hearing about it.

    Thanks,
    Robert

I feel your pain (or frustration). I did order a set of the SS door sills from Jamie. Got the same story and took about 6-8 weeks to finally get them. I was getting a little worried after a number of e-mails. He probably orders them from his supplier/mfg. as he gets orders, hence the long delay.

I too supply my product in a just in time manner. No significant inventory as we usually make to order. However I would be out of business if I supplied my customers in this fashion. He would do himself a lot of good if he just told people up front the turnaround time.

I asked him a few months ago and he told me it would be 6 weeks so I got a set copied from the rubber strip locally. It took an hour.

Just be patient, the same happened to me as to others but he will deliver. The shop that make them must be pulling his legs as well.

For something that is made to order, I can understand waiting 6 weeks... but for something that was ordered, or even paid for in March (St. Patty's day even), we are talking just over 5 MONTHS! If this was explained early on, then you have to take it at face value, but if I were told it would be 4 to 6 weeks, and I still hadn't received in over 5 MONTHS, I would think there is a problem. Maybe it's just me...

I ordered and waited for a long period of time, but to be fair he was always responding to e-mails. I received mine and they look great.

I was actually initially told it would take 2-3 weeks - maybe he meant years!

That is just ridiculous to wait that long. My guess is the actual manufacturer has a minimum number or his cost goes way up. So, he waits until he gets enough orders to make the minimum, has them made, then packages and ships them out.
