    Hi Everyone,

First of all thank you to the fellow F-chatter who brought this to our attention. We check the forums but never as often as we would like and it is important to give fast feedback to customer concerns.

Regarding the size of the depression on the sill we will immediately look into the dimensions of OEM sills and compare them to our own in an effort to identify where the problem lies. Our sills were tooled off of OEM sills, and we have sold many sets to customers who have successfully fitted the OEM rubber inserts so our first step is to determine if the problem is with our tool or if Ferrari did indeed have variations in their sills during the 348/355 production run.

On the subject of the companies out there that offer sill inserts (in carbon or metal) that carry the Ferrari name we can only assume that their parts are tooled to fit the OEM depressions and will consider that in our investigation. Further than that, because those sill inserts are a blatant copyright on the Ferrari name we cannot contribute to their engineering and design or offer a similar product ourselves. Other companies may be ok with it but we do too much business with the OEM's to risk problems by offering a Ferrari branded part. I hope you guys understand our perspective.

Indeed this makes a lot of sense, thanks for the explanation and, as a Carbonio customer, I have to say I love my sills and I reccommend them to any fchatter reading this.

It's unfortunate about the Ferrari copyright and totally understandable of them to protect their name. However, we wouldn't have this problem if Ferrari actually made nicer better quality sills that don't rust or corrode so easily.

I understand what you mean but the groove would still look great as the carbon fibre looks so attractive.

What did you end up doing with your sills anyway? Did you powder coat them?

The Nouvalari sills do NOT use an insert. They have integrated another color or weave (2 x 2 or 4 x 4) carbon fiber for the insert area & all is sealed within the sill. Nothing for dirt, debris or girlfriends spike heels to catch on or accumulate in recesses. Mine have been made & are on the way and should be here next week. I will post the pics when they arrive.
My choice was black carbon fiber main body, red carbon fiber for the rectangular (insert area) area with the Ferrari lettering/logo in black carbon fiber. They should look exquisite on my 1995 Ferrari 348 Spider in Rosso Corsa (Ferrari Red) & Tan (black convertible top/tan tornneau cover). Glenn at nouvalari is great to work with & actually has a 348 spider also!

I just had my Carbonio CF sills installed and used the OEM rubber inserts. They look excellent. Not custom as in the aluminum inserts, just very OEM but cleaner.

    I'll upload some pics later.

BTW, the OEM rubber fit my new Carbonio CF sills perfectly, so something is inconsistent with all this insert stuff.

Heres the pic. I'll try to take some better ones later. I think they are in keeoing with the original design and I like that.

It's hard to tell in your picture just wondering do your rubber inserts fit perfectly flat? (Meaning the ends are not bend upwards at all to fit in the recessed area.) This is the issue with mine and when trying to fit aluminum insert then of course the ends can’t bend upwards.

Erick, here are four pictures of my sills. It appears to me that they are sized correctly. On the one side it appears as if the insert was installed slightly forward and thus the forward edge is not quite seated perfectly. It is basically under the door even with the door open and if you hadn't brought it up , I wouldn't have noticed it. On the right side it appears as if the insert is seated ideally and fits exactly

The rubber fits because they fall into the groove and they are flexible. If they were rigid, they would not fit which is what happens with the Carztuff sills.

I've advised Carztuff to reduce the size of the sills by 1/4 inch in length and width. I'm not sure if he's done that by now...

He was also thinking of making the entire sill out of stainless steel which would be cool. I guess he hasn't gotten around to it.

Going through this thread, I think the combination of the CF sill and OEM rubber insert looks the best.

    Strongly and respectfully disagree.

the OEM inserts are thin rubber and changing them is an absolute must IMO.

the passenger footrest and dead pedal also look cheap and flimsy.

I think those rubber inserts are not worthy of those gorgeous Carbonio sills and is a major mismatch.

I strongly and respectfully disagree as well.

The subtlety of the dark insert with the polished surface and clean look of the CF is perfect

These cars don't need bling. IMO

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder which is why there are so many fashion styles and design choices in life. IMHO these cars don't need a lot of embellishment and the understatement of the door sills are the threshold to the sophisticated appearance of the interior

I agree, Bob. I think your CF sill and OEM rubber insert looks nicer than the Fiorano CF sill.

Our door sills and all of our Carbon Fiber parts are produced under our sister company ExoticCarGear. Our site is currently being reconstructed so the door sills and some other 348/355 items are not posted. They are available with or without the insert as well as several color options and weave patters. We would be happy to discuss all of the options and the best possible price. Just ontact myself or Glenn directly.

My new Carbon Fiber Door Sills from Nouvalari have passed customs & quality inspection at Nouvalari. Here are some pictures! I also added a carbon fiber airbox to my 348, so if anybody is interested in: OEM 1995 348 Spider Door Sills &/or OEM airbox send me a PM.
    Both in very good condition.

I considered them but in the end I went with Carbonio because the relatively small price difference wasn't worth it.

I purchased the Carbonio carbon fiber door sills, too, but trying to decide which insert I like better... the aluminum insert is a little too big (fits my OEM part perfectly, but a bit too long for the Carbonio)

Any feedback on if people prefer the aluminum inserts or just the aluminum letters? Another option would be to have a thin border/outline around the entire recessed portion and aluminum letters of the door sill (don't have a picture). Thoughts?
