Is there any one who has experience with the automatic door locks of a 355? I got l myself ocked in and could not open the door nor the passenger door normaly. The buttons on the dash did not help and only switching on/of the alarm made the powerlocks move up and down a few times. i could manage to open the passenger door once to let escape my passenger. After this moment the doors did not open anymore. i had to climb out of the window. Switching off the battery or removal of the fuse (29- position interiorlights and doorlocks) did not help. Any idea of what is going wrong and how to solve it? regards JP

Why not roll up the window after getting out? Then use the remote or key to unlock and get in.
As for the actual problem, I don't know what could be casuing it. Does the lock button work, or are they both out?

the lock buttons are in and when moved by hand or with the key they go up and go down immediately. The unlock switch on the panel makes the lock buttons move but the door itself does not unlock. While sitting in the car and use the remote the lock buttons only move up and go down immediately. I can not close the window when i climbed out of the car by the window. (and if i could i would not be able to enter the car any more..)

Seems like something may be wrong with the locking mechanism inside the door. But to happen on both doors would be a hell of a coincidence.
And what I was asking is if both the lock and unlock switches in the middle are doing anything.

i appreciate your help. the most right button is doing something, the button one position more left does not create any response
(sorry for confusing: i did not use the right technical words: how do you call the lock/ unlock pins on the door itself? )

I had the same problem....I started with taking the drivers side interior door panel off and got lucky! The window regulator "tail"; orange looking plastic hose, had moved and was resting on top of the door lock wire plunger...the metal wire peice that the door lock button is attached to. Each time I lowered the window, it would push down on the door lock, locking them. It would also make hell with trying to unlock the doors (they would unlock, then immediately relock!). The simple solution was to reroute this window regulator hose thingy and secure it with some wire ties. Of course I had the window regulator replaced by the dealer about a year before....so they must not have secured or routed it properly. ;)

No alarm beeps. My problem was intermittent, so eventually I could get the doors open. Raising the window helped in my instance.

i have opened the doors by endless trying and removed the doorpanels. the orange gauge is tightly fixed and i can not see anything which looks strange so i am back where i started:

The doors of my 355 failed to open and kept me locked up until i finally had to leave the car by the window.
    In search of a solution I :

    switched the battery off.
    removed the power lock fuse
I swapped the console switch buttons (door-open)(door close)
tried to open the door by key, exterior door handle, interior door handle, door unlock buttons on the console, door pins on top of the door itself and remote Fob but nothing noting helped.

last night i tried it again by combining several options and suddenly i could open one door. I removed the door connection cable and placed it back on and suddenly also the passengers door released. From then on, the two doors are open. I immediately removed the door panels for inspection but i could not detect a strange situation. I could open the doors by key.
i was not confident that the problem was solved so i simulated a door closing by pushing the lock arms of the door lock mechanism to close and then the issue re-occurred: i could not unlock it again... so the car is now parked with open doors. it feels very uncomfortable to start with a new car like this.

what can i do to solve this problem. please contact me
