Hello to the Fchat community, long time lurker here and my first post. I just wanted to say thank you all for the vast knowledge this site provides. I have been looking for a 355 for awhile now, and currently have taken a more aggressive/educated approach....I would like to acquire one by the spring....as I have sold another toy and do not do well when left alone. With all that being said I have been eyeing a particular one on Ebay...95 argento spyder w/15k and valves done....I personally won't purchase a car off Ebay but do use it as a tool...actually found my last one there and purchased it after the auction. Well in trying to find out all I could about the 355....the seller has very little feedback.....and somethings in the add are wrong....I was able to locate the actual VIN and check it against the 355 registry and there it was......with a huge piece of info (due for a major due to time)....this totally eliminates this particular 355 for me, IMHO it is misrepresented.....I just wanted to say thanks again.....

Best advice, be patient and make sure you get a PPI done. Although it's no guaranty that things will not go wrong, it will give you a good overview of the car based on the expert opinion of an individual that knows these cars. I also utilized ebay, but personally visited the seller to make sure things were legit, in many cases the seller was a dealer. Once I found the right car, the sales price was negotiated based on a clean PPI.

For me, I wanted a 3 pedal car with excellent records and a visual that showed she was well taken care of and came through the PPI in good form.

It took me many months of searching but I did end up finalizing the purchase of my "blue" within the last two weeks, once you find the right car you will be thrilled with the driving experience she offers

PPI is definitely a must...I also would like a leak down test done as part of it, I don't know if its standard practice but I will require one to set my mind at ease or prepare myself for the necessary steps to follow.....I also want a 3 pedal (records!! a must)...and would ideally like a berlinetta....spyder....targa....in that order. I have some pretty big questions right off the bat, I am searching this site and others for answers (I like to be thorough before I ask questions that are already answered). I have owned a number of p-cars as well as ducks ....this would be my first Ferrari and therefor makes it foreign territory. I have made poor purchases in the past as well as great ones......my goal is to take my time and find the "correct 355" for me. I plan on keeping this toy for awhile.....and driving it!
