Start up the BBQ, has anybody used one of the hand held pistol grip temperature readers after a spirited drive ? I am almost afraid to ... Lol, even 15-30 minutes after with a fan directed at the engine with the cover open we are talking HOT. Even my wheels are hot 15-30 min later, the cam covers are almost to hot to keep your hand on them 30 min after shut down with fan on.
Anybody else use fans, I may buy one of the temp gauges and take some temps after shut down, 15 and 30 min after shut down, it has also been in the 90s here in Oregon which is a bit high for this time of year.
All temp gauges appear normal ( needles straight up ) on shut down.

When I get off a race track, you can roast wienies from the heat coming off the brakes.

But even in 103dF Texas summer heat, the engine is cool after 20 minutes with no fans what-so-even. I do do the cool down lap to actually cool the car.

Turn the car off after a drive, then put it in accessory mode and watch the needles just fly to the right. Rad fan should kick in as well.

I have a fan in my driveway that blows into the passenger air duct, that seems to cool it off the engine rather quickly

Passenger air duct is oil and water.
Driver side air duct is A/C and water.

engine off, just to cool the rad and oil tank area, really blows the heat out

I think I posted somewhere also to wire a delay timer into the fans if you want to run them a minute or so to cool down after you shut it off.
