I just brought home the new ride last night but I need to get an exhaust system to "liven" things up a bit. I have access to a challenge system that is supposed to be pretty loud but have heard the tubi's sound better. Is this correct??? Also, because my car is all black I am going to buy a set of aftermarket wheels in high polish or chrome. Generally do people stick with the stock size wheels or is there a preferable upgrade in size or width?? Last question... is it a sin to tint the windows????

beautiful picture! Congrats! I just bought my first 355 spider and it is in the shop right now getting exhaust, headers, new tires, etc installed.
IMO the Capristo is the best sounding exhaust for the 355. It is about $3000 and sounds unbelievable! I have driven a 360 with one and also heard several 355's. If you are looking for shrieking F1 high pitched whine, the capristo is for you. Keep the stock wheels for sure - but you can increase the tire size on that wheel! I just ordered Kumho's in 235 40 18 front and 295 35 18 rear! Yes, they do fit on the stock rims (thanks Chaa!).
IMO I would not tint the windows on that car but it is up to you.
Enjoy the car and drive it hard and often!

Hey Brett, nice car, I hope you get lots of enjoyment with it. IMO, aftermarket wheels in full polish will look great on the car. Personally, I don't care for chrome, but full polish is very nice with black. The challenge exhaust is a fine(yes loud) sound for the car. Might be too much in a spyder but thats up to you. My advice about modding the car, its yours-do what pleases you. But unlike some, with Ferraris, the best mods are ones that can be reversed without trace, rims, headers, cats, exhaust. I guess tint can easily be removed as well, and in Florida might be a nice addition. Just make sure it can come off without hurting the window moulding etc.
    And drive it!!

Congratulations great looking car I have a 355 Spider and my recommendation would be a set of HRE wheels not in chrome ( personal preference) and a Tubi with straight pipes as you have no emissions testing in Florida. Sound is awsome, add the Brembo Brake package and the grille and you will be in great shape Enjoy !!!

The biggest advantage of tint is some reduction on sun related wear. Tint comes off pretty easily so it would seem that the tradeoff is good. I have found some wheels and I am not sure whether to move up to 19 x 8, 19x 10.5 or stay with stock sizes. Any ideas???

If you must, full polish, not chrome. Congratulations! Great looking car!

Black centers with polished lips would be beautiful too.
19's(do a search and you will get lots of pics. I think it was Vik, but not sure, someone with a red 355b had 19's and they looked great. You will get a stiffer ride, so depends on you roads and driving needs.
    these are 19's.

well the clear winner here has to be without a doubt the Capristo with no cats! That is what I am installing on my car and it is simply amazing!

The Capristo sounds the best but I wish he'd revved the ITO the the RPM level that he did w/ the other 2.
