    As a newbie, I came to this site asking about exhaust noise from my '98 355 Spyder. A very helpful member responded with advise and even provided diagrams to make the adjustments he thought would resolve my problem without the expensive replacement of the parts. I printed the info and now for some damn reason, I can't find.

    I could sure use some help with this problem.

    My 355 had a faint clicking noise that would appear after 10-15 min of operation. I had it checked but it was hard to hear, the shop thought it was the exhaust by pass valve ... So we waited. It got louder and constant so I took it back. The tech took a piece of small hose, put one end to his ear and ...... Bingo in less than 5 minutes discovered the cause. A blown exhaust valve gasket, I had searched with a stethascope with a metal tip without any luck. You could clearly hear the noise when he put the tube on the exhaust manifold/head. They replaced all 4 gaskets on the passenger side, only a few 100 bucks.
