Has anyone actually done the conversion on a 1998 F355 from FI transmission to the 6 speed manual transmission?

You might be better off looking in the 355 section

Completed a 355 F1 to Manual conversion last year. Drives Great! I just need to clean up a few things namely the gauges. (Water temp and gear indicator was replaced with the dual oil press and water temp in the pod) Next, Oil Temp in the center console to replace, the now redundant oil pressure gauge. I'm hoping someone might be in the know for my questions below....

    1. I installed the dual Water and Oil pressure gauge. It Plugged right in, but the new Oil Pressure gauge half is dark and the gauge goes to 100+++% with the ignition on. (Water temp works fine as before) I heard a rumor that the wires for the oil pressure might already be there and there is a trick to getting it to work. Anyone know? I'm hoping to avoid jumping all the wires from the console oil pressure gauge as it might be ugly.
    2. I noticed (despite not having the gauge from the factory) my oil tank already has an oil temp sender and wire. Does anyone know where that wire terminates and even better what it looks like?

    Any help is appreciated

The wiring probably goes as far as connector 41024 pin 13. Connector 41024 and 41025 shown here:

    So, the upper white plug.

Should be a brown (only) wire. No stripe.

You'll have to take the carpeted saddle off the forward part of the centre console.

Yeah, other folks have tried this too. It doesn't work.

That second diagram shows a theoretical wire going from pin 16 on connector 41024 to the old (F1) oil pressure gauge (in the centre cluster).

You may be able to transfer the wire on pin 16 to pin 13 (on the rear of connector 41024)

I would confirm the oil temp wire is on pin 13 first with a continuity check.

Does anyone know of any reputable shops that do this conversion for those of us too afraid to tackle the job? Bonus points for any shops in Washington. Thanks!

We have done a number of conversions, 360, 430 and 599. 355 would be a slightly different but easily done. We are also in Washington if that makes it convenient.

@windsock what would you charge for a 355 conversion? 1999 F1 to 1999 3 Pedal if supplied all of the Bosch 5.2 parts?

Did you manage to get this conversion done? If not, do you have the parts?

I'm dealing with that now. I have nearly gotten enough parts to be able to fabricate the rest. We'll see how it goes. Even if I can't buy stuff, I'd like to at least get measurements so I can make them myself. Luckily I've been able to get all of the visible interior bits.
