I feel more connected with the car with 3 pedals. Its my street car not track car.

I also feel more connected w/ the 355F1 particular implementation of the electro-hydraulically assisted shifting mechanism and still extant human control of the throttle response. Of course, there are always equally interesting and valid pathways to the feeling of connectedness in any dimension.
Cheers meant in the best way possible!!

    Agree.

Cant help to think if humans were able to shift as fast as the F1 tranny if it would even go into production to begin with. Personal preference I suppose; no right or wrong. Just something about auto shifting assist that I can't get over. If I was in the business of making money by saving mili seconds off my track time I would without a doubt go with the best technology that existed to "help" me change gears & shave time. For city fun purposes like my 4 wheeler & bike.......... manual baby.

Edit: If there is a mod to swap the loooong stick for a shorter one, someone please pm me

Take the stick to a shop and have it cut down, there is your mod :)

J/K, I'd guess someone makes an aftermarket shift arm...

I just cut my shift lever on the 95 F355 by 2.5 inches. Will install this winter and I think it will be much better. The lever was way to long.

3 months in to F1 ownership and love it, had a 95 manual previously and much prefer the F1.
Something that has puzzled me is why the 355 challenge didn't end up being F1.

Does your wife know you shortened your shifter by 2.5 inches? ;)

Interesting. Send me the instructions to this mod. I can't stand the long euro buggy feel. Would love to see a before and after pic and your take on it.

Easy, just cut out a length above the curve of the shaft and then weld and polish. Weld just below the threads so it does not show. A friend of mine who is a master welder did it. I won't be installing until later this winter since car is in storage. I will post when I get it installed.

355 challenge started before f1 was available and I don't they wanted a mix of f1 and non-f1 cars.

It's not just the shift speed, but that an f1 won't miss a shift. Ever.

This is a major reason for me letting people drive my car, which of course they get a huge kick out of. I don't think I would let someone drive if it were a manual.
