I have been in contact with ANSA USA who referred me to an indi vendor who they felt knew more about OEM stuff than they as all they have been able to sell is an ANSA muffler and not the headers. This vendor told me verbally that they changed the SS Material used in the headers and have had no reported problems with the redesigned headers

Knowing that this group wouldn't accept that from me as a data point , I have written Ferrari NA and we will see if they respond

So as not to put this contact I spoke with in a position he doesn't want to be in, if anyone wants to speak with either party I spoke with , pm me for their contact specifics.

That is great to hear that there hasn't been any failures. It is also good to hear that they upgraded the s/s. Now if they could state what s/s they used and wall thickness that would confirm the improvements. Bob, I would accept data points from you because if you were selling the product you could provide details. It is Ferrari that I am skeptical of. They should have stepped up to the plate a long time ago and addressed this. I believe these issues also occurred with the 360 and 430. No other cars that I own have had a problem like this.

Jimmy, I am sure that some if not most if the contributors to this thread regard my statement that the authorized Ferrari dealer that I bought them from told me that they were improved and changed as BS and me as the only buyer of new OEM headers as foolish , gullible and naive. Most of the posts on this thread insinuate that

I am trusting of people I trust and not being in the business I I find comfort in dealing with people I don't have to second guess. On this matter I would have felt pretty foolish asking the folks at Classic Coach what Ss was used and what wall thickness. I suppose you could parse every part you buy for your car like that but at some point I have to go with what feels right

Regardless. The new headers are new, they do have an authentic part number, they are made by ANSA and the new price point with the kit they include is competitive with any aftermarket solution out there and they say FERRARI on them !!!!!

What is thAt worth in an equal world??

Another option is the re-tubed headers from JPExhausts that Ricambi carries in which the primary tubes are replaced. Their work looks nice and the cost is reasonable. I happened to check out their website recently and noticed that they had a 355 header that had all the tubing replaced including the collectors.

I head my oem headers rebuilt by QV in London UK.

Anyone know if this is a good option?

At that point why not go aftermarket? You are already replacing 80% of the header and still leaving the crappy merger collector.
