Last year my fans were cycling funny. I could not hear my passenger-side fan spinning.

I searched the board for the usual causes... checked fuses etc but never found the cause. Temperatures were always OK (I live in Canada so ambient temp is rarely over 25*C) and I didn't remove the fans until this winter...

I found that the fan motor was actually working fine - but the motor-fan connection itself had split inside. The motor was spinning but the fan was not! The little pin that connects the fan to the motor has sheared right through the plastic.

I ordered up a new fan and replaced the parts. Luckily you just need any old SPAL fan so can order cheap. You'll see from the pics that the NEW pins and fans are much wider...I guess someone figured out the design flaw!

...hopefully this helps someone else down the road...
