Interesting to see how high this one goes. If there is one sure thing it is a car being well sold and not well bought at BJ.
Well that certainly settles it: The F1 transmission is "stunningly fast". Take that haters! Interesting that it has special "shields" to control brake dust. Anyone think someone saw that the car had "shields" and that was the best they could do to explain them?
It's unfortunate but auction companies like Barrett Jackson, Mecum and other mainly muscle car type auctions really have no idea how to sell exotics or any imports for that matter. I have rarely, if ever, seen exotics do well at these auctions. I would expect this to be no different. I predict a good deal for the buyer.
You might want to look at Ferrari sales at Barrett Jackson over the past decade.....certainly they are not represented in big numbers compared to the american muscle cars but I would hardly say they are good deals for the buyers especially considering the added buyer's fees?
Not all of them were F1's. All were spiders but there was a manuel transmission in one that was recently up for sale.
I noticed that the center council is not original to the fiorano. The carbon sides is right but not the top as it looks like they put that tacky carbon look on there but not the ashtray.
They certainly did put the center console CF, The also put it on the main dash surrounding the speedo and tach. While I'm not a fan on the center console it does look nice on the dash as the radio section came with it std. To me it always looked like an error to have omitted it on the dash.
This is #68/100 and the center council is different. The bottom one is #14/100 and the council insert is complete CF which could lead one to believe that the one at BJ may have had the ashray switched out at one point. But then again who knows for sure? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
First picture (#68/100) is what came OEM for Serie Fiorano cars. Any CF inserts on the top side/surface of center console must have been added by owners later.
please what is the limited nr of 100 from *116504 sell by Barret-jackson???? in my register found not by Vin nr,thank you Image Unavailable, Please Login
So....did it sell on the block?? Anybody knows?? Edit: Never mind....I guess I'm a week early....sorry for posting before checking the dates. My bad.
That looks like the solid pieces, still may be MA carbon. That's what I have. I don't like the peel and stick on the center console, but I love my solid bits. I don't think the factory ever made carbon panels like that.
Gavel fell at $74,800 plus fees/taxes/etc. Thoughts? 1999 FERRARI 355 SPIDER Lot 1587 | Barrett-Jackson Auction Company
So $81k + tax. One has to assume a 30k service is due and probably another $3k to sort. So your looking at $92k for piece of mind.
