Well here's a story for you..... I decided that the steering wasn't as positive as I would like it on my car and being used to quick racks it had crossed my mind several times to look into changing this, then a friend said he thought similar with regard to the steering.......... so I started to do some investigations and found that the only option seemed to be a Fiorano / Challenge rack. I was informed that I also need the uprated pump to go with the rack so decided to take the plunge and order the lot. Got the car booked in to have the rack and pump fitted - all went ok. When I picked the car up I easily noticed the difference, massive improvment very happy. Later that day I was cleaning up the old items that came off the car ready for sale and I noticed after some cleaning the steering rack that came off the car had the same part number as what I had ordered - heart drop so was trying to understand how this could have been as the pump was the normal part number. Anyway it turned out that previously my car had been fitted with a new rack for some reason so whether or not the previous person was planning a conversion and did not know about the pump change or it was due a light front nudge on one wheel corner the rack had been swapped. From what I can see there's no way you can see the part number of the rack while it's in the car only when it's out..........so you can easily see how this could have happen.................... What I find interesting though is the pump alone (more psi) seemed to make all the difference if you follow what I mean...... So to ease my pain : 1 x LHD Fiorano rack for sale if anyone seriously interested 1 x standard steering pump available Now if I haven't bored you too much with the rack story I might tell you about the interesting roll bar upgrade.....
