Gents: How dose one access the flasher relay(s?) left of the steering column, under the dash lip, above the carpet? Thank you.

In the fuse compartment in the front. Lift up front hood and it is on the drivers side directly opposite of the panel that contains the battery shut-off. You may have to remove some trim to get to some of the relays properly without cutting up your hands like I did. (for a 1995 F355 GTB)

My '98 F355 5.2 flasher relay is located inside the cabin almost directly above the (normal) front luggage compartment release handle, behind the carpet near the driver's knee. I remove the stainless steel kickplate to get more movement out of the carpet. It's a green module. It's actually above the carpet line, but the screw may be below the carpet line.

This applies to left and right hand drive cars.

Is there a problem with the flasher?

Attempting to locate the hyper flash source, I swapped out relays, cleaned sockets, checked grounds and replaced bulbs hoping to find the culprit. No luck. Then it dawned on me - the 'clicking' sound is coming from just behind the lower dash ahead of the left knee, above the carpet edge. If I could remove the dash panel perhaps I might access the flasher. It seems to me access must be through the interior and not through the trunk. So I'm wondering - can anyone tell me how to access the flasher behind this panel?

Yes, there are 2 relays underneath that panel. One for 4-way flashers and one for turn signals.
That "underside" dash panel left of the steering column comes off independently. Look underneath (it's uncomfortable, but the best way is to lay on your back with your head in the footwell) and there is a long bracket with a gold bolt. Remove that and the piece will come off and you can access the relays.
It's a royal pain to get back on correctly and takes some force but it can be done.

Interesting. It sounds like US cars are completely different from Euro cars. There is only a flasher unit/relay on my Euro car. This handles turn and hazard lights. There is an additional remote clicker unit on some earlier cars.

chris1866. Sounds like you've been down this relay replacement road. May I impose with another question. Given the underside dash panel is a royal pain to replace....can the flasher relays be replaced without removing said panel? Any special tools or tricks? Thanks - Happy New Year.
