I have to mount a front license plate. Does anyone have suggestions. I can't find a picture of the dynamic technology one with a plate on it and on the front of a 355 to tell what it would look like. The one picture I do see lools like it is cocked sideways and sticking out. I also cannot find a picture of one with the stock unit that you can buy from the dealer.

Looking for suggestions. I want the best looking and plan to run the plate at all times. Cops here harrass people too much.

My front plate is attached with adhesive-backed Velcro. The car has clear bra on it, so the adhesive on the Velcro isn't sticking directly to the paint.

I've shaped the plate to follow the curve of the front bumper. The look of the plate has further been minimized by creating a license plate "frame" out of red duct tape (matches the color pretty well). Here are a couple shots.

I used a section of 1*1 angle aluminum, a hack saw, a file, and some 600 wet/dry to make a set (4) of brackets. After the braketes were made, I drilled 4 holes in the front grill (vertically so you can't see them if the plate is off) and std fasteners. Cost: about 3$.

I have this. Goes on & off easily. I'll see if I have a pic with it on.

You're running a front plate? I don't on my Audi or Ferrari. I've never been stopped. This is a revenue-generating issue, pure and simple. If I do get stopped, I'm going to give the cop the (erroneous) story that a front plate would block my "front radiator" and make my car overheat. LOL

If that doesn't work I'm seriously thinking of getting a number of exotic owners together and filing suit against the state to provide an exemption for these types of cars. I know it would be a major uphill battle (as they will claim that these are the cars mostly likely to speed). But what the Hell.

My father up in WA has the same issue on his 328. I'm glad that at least for now I'm in NC and don't have to worry about the front plate. But I agree, the whole thing is a crock.

I like the bent-plate idea to follow the bumper if it must be done.

Yes, I got stopped twice in the Vette and once in the Ferrari. I brought in a 2 hour tape of cars passing the exact spot I was ticketed showing the Judge that every 3rd car was either devoid of a plate or using an improper plate, and handed him a picture of 4 cars sitting in his very own parking court parking lot with improper plates. I still had to eat the ticket.

Yes, it generates revenue; no, I don't want to pay anymore.

I usually keep the front plate (with the plate clip installed) in the front trunk. When I'm pulled over I simply pull it out, pop it on and explain that I simply forgot to install it after a car event. To date, zero tickets.

It literally goes on or off in five seconds or less.

I used the original mounting frame, reshaped it & it is held on with one original screw on the undertray panel. Did not have to drill any holes & has not moved in six years.

&&&& it did not cost me anything.

Does anyone have the OEM plate mount? It shows it on the parts diagram. I would like to see what it looks like on the car. I do not want a removable one because I will be laving it on 100% of the time.

I would still like to see a full frontal picture of the one that screws into the tow hook.

I think that is the best solution so far.....I guess most cops would give you a chance. You can also say something like: "it fell off this morning and I don't have the tools to put it back, I will put it back on as soon as I get home"

You should be able to get out of it...

Cause that front plate on there permanently is just ugly no matter how it's mounted and killes the entire look and lines of the car when looking from the front.

I use 3M outdoor adhesive tape. The one that come with red plastic to peel it off. Make sure it is for outdoor use as they also have another one for indoor. It works fine for years in my hot and wet country. Not sure if it is available in your country but it should be since it is 3M product.

I actually have a giant roll of that stuff.

I am thinking of making my own bracket that will mount to the bottom of the bumper (so if next owner does not need it, there will be no holes to see). I wll keep the plate below the grill opening and somewhat contoured to the bumper. I will post a pic when I get to it.

I have this also, but I wouldn't exactly call it easy-on easy-off. I'm intending to try to plate clip -- that seems like a much better solution.

I live in Virginia where you are required to have a front tag, I think it ruins the looks of the front end, so I mounted mine in a special place.

I did the same thing when I lived in Virginia but I also got four tickets in one year totaling over $400. For some reason the LOE there seem to be far more strict than other places we've lived but best of luck to you.

I have a lot of respect for the men and women in blue but OMG are you serious. Of all the things an officer has to worry about and they pick "no front plate." Wow, now the streets are safer for all of us.
If I was a cop I would be embarrassed to write a ticket for something so stupid. Try and justify all they want the bottom line is that it generates revenue.
My rant is over, thank you for reading.

I run one on my commuter/grocery getter (2010 Camaro) but not on my fun cars. Never had one on my Elise since 2005 and no tickets yet. Got one on my RS back in 2003 and just paid it.

I used wire ties. Looks hilarious (as does any ferrari with a front plate, no matter what mount is used), but gets the job done. As long as it gets the va cops off my back, I'm happy. I didn't even trim the wire ties either, ends just sticking out everywhere. *shrug*
