G'day All. Can someone please tell me if the! Trunk Release Mechanism! Body Shell recess in the cockpit off a 355 is in both sides off the car from the factory? Or is it only in the side of the car that the steering wheel is optioned from factory ie LH Drive /left side on recess for mech release

I've been away at work but should be home today. I'll take a look at mine when I get there as I can't remember off the top of my head.

Emergency unlock for the front hood is on both sides from the factory.

The main normal unlock is one lever that operates both sides

I think he has a right hand drive with a bad kick panel. He's trying to figure out if a much more common left hand drive panel has the recess for the main release pull.

My Question is related to the main Trunk Release body panel recess/cut-out. Not the emergency release. I was hoping to eliminate the idea of removing the carpet to see if the Recess was generic to both sides of the car main body work. Ie could I put the release mech in the opposite side of the car without needing to cut a recess/hole for the lever mech cheers and thanks in advance

Hello I'm led to believe that the front trunk Release lever panel behind the carpet is just a plastic panel that is glued/mastic to the body shell. I have been unsuccessful in obtaining the part No for this section or if it is generic to both sides of the vehicle. Example it's glued in at the factory pending LH or RH drive option. If there is anyone that dismantles 355 possibly they have seen or have this part. Thanks in advance

On mine he drivers side (left) has a flat area were the handle is and the passenger side (right) does not even have the flat area where the pull would go. They are similarly shaped but not the same.

Its not going to be in the catalog.

You will need the entire frame section that it is part of.

Very good point thanks. There doesn't seem to be pictures in catalogue showing panel attached to anything at all. Possibly it's just not available anymore thanks again for everyone's help that tried
