    Why did you choose Fuchs?

I´m looking for a replacement as my stock exhaust sounds - well, exhausted :)

I would like to have an exhaust with more growl compared to the tubis.

    Thanks guys,

    Hi AR!,

for me it sounds fine tuned. Not too much bass on idle. Good mids.
Easy to pass a policeman without earning too much attention.
On higher revs, when the bypass valve opens, you get all the F1 trumpets
    awake :) (agressive racecar).
It's just the sound you expect from a Ferrari.
No booming in the cabin, no disturbing resonances or "extra" rattling
(not ordered) from loosen parts inside.

Quality: Solid, good welding/finish, V4A steel, german product, best service (in case), only sport-muffler with TÜV/ABE option (paperwork), best fitting to the fixing points.
BTW: Nothing against Tubi, but they can go bad/crack.
Never heard this about Fuchs. Maybe they can last forever.

    funny:
Crackling after a turn is quite noticeable (campfire).

    Gruß nach Berlin!

    thanks Wolfgang,

tomorrow I will have a trip with the mighty Yamaha R1 to Südtirol/Trentino.
No FRDs for me this year :-(
So be patient to hear me another day.
Will try to produce a soundfile in a tunnel anyway :)

    @ Fan512bbi:

Can agree now, the race in Spa wasn't boring.
But I can't confirm that for all the races in 2004.

    Hi Cinque,

Congratulations for this excellent job! You seams having very good mechanical knowledges. How long did it took you (from start to completion)?

    Hi Christophe,

it was not so difficult with a buddy's help (especially for removing the bumper). It's a dry job, no grease, no oil :)
It takes around 3-4 relaxed hours, 4 bottles beer, and some time for tool searching (17" nut).
Yesterday I got my montage check and paperwork at the TÜV.
Everything is street legal now :)
Sound: campfire crackling is gone now after some hot /cold cycles.
In the tunnel it sounds a little bit like this (Tie-Fighter):

    Hi Cinque,

nice to see your beautiful blue F355 again after Andermatt! I see you've been busy... man, I'd LOVE to install a loud exhaust on my car too, but no way the Swiss cops would let it go unnoticed... besides, I have a neighbour who's a cop! It's a good neighbour to have, it means my car is very safe when I'm away; but I don't think he would be too appreciative of a loud exhaust... :-(

Am I going to have the wimpiest F355 next time we meet?? I've got to get myself a Maranello with a Tubi, then!! (I'll push it out of the garage and only switch on the engine a couple of Km away from my neighbour ;-)) ).

How was the 'Ring? I couldn't make it (too much wine on saturday, too much sleep on sunday) but I really miss not having been there. Next time - where do we meet? Wolfgang, what's the plan?

    See you
    Andrea

    Hi Andrea,

LOL :) enjoy your silent neighbourhood.
Next ad hoc meeting could be in Austria.
Guess that's closer then scotland for most of the bunch ... Let's discuss it in the europe section.
Was not able to drive to the Racing Days; maybe next year.

    answers:
"Fuchs" means fox. You can pronounce it "fux" or "fouggs". Just fugazi.

My car is "blue le mans". There is a special thread on this colour somewhere :)
And yes, I will clean my engine bay soon. (looks more dusty under flashlight as it actually is). Thanks for the reminder!

BTW: Do not screw the clip (connects muffler and cat) too tight.
It will fall apart (see the pic below; recognized it while disassembling)
