Does the 355 have two options to fill the transmission? I decided to change my gear box oil for he first time and drained the oil, now I am twisting stuff off trying to get the dipstick plug out. I've about tried everything.

I did search and have been reading for awhile but have not found the answer yet so I figured it might be faster to just ask. Thanks.

what does this mean? You stripped the hex head? you have the hex spinning in bunged up aluminum gearbox threads? You can't turn the hex on the dipstick?

If it's like the 348, there are 2 options.

I haven't hurt anything on the trans yet. I broke a ratchet, got on it with a breaker bar and twisted off a 3/8 extention, and have now deformed an Allen wrench. But the plug itself has not tore up or budged. I've tried hammering on it and the sides, also tried some heat with my little torch. I cannot get it to pop loose.

It tends to be tight, You need a 1/2 inch allen socket, a longish extension, and a 1/2 breaker bar, then steadily apply leverage.

Mitchell is right! Somehow those things tighten themselves.

I was just tooling through old posts and realized I never updated this. I doubt anyone cares but I did get it and didn't ruin anything, thank God.

I ditched the 3/8 drive Allen wrench set and cut my L shaped 12mm Allen wrench off so I had a straight chunk and put that in a 1/2 drive 12mm socket. Some extensions, a breaker bar and a cheater pipe, a little more heat and it finally popped free.

I put a liberal amount of anti seize on it when it went back on.

Now the 355 is filled with Redline shockproof, not that I've even been home long enough to get it off he lift and go check it out. That's a sad thread in its own right that might have to start.

Thank you for finishing the thread.

People are always quick to say search! But when you do, you find dozens of unanswered, unresolved threads or ones that just have replies telling the OP to search lol
