    Hi everyone,

Ok, so we all now that the recommended gearbox oil for the 355 is a 75W-90 and you need 5 litres.

But, does anyone now what api is recommended? Is it GL-4 or GL-5??

If your gearbox has any yellow metals such as brass synchros a GL-5 gear oil will not work to their benefit.

Finally I found it. They recommend the Shell transaxle 75W-90 which matches GL-4, GL-5 and MT-1 api requirements. :)

Now, the most difficult part, finding it!

Ferrari recommends both Shell and Agip and I have purchased both from the F dealer.
Having said that there are many quality gear oils that are likely superior to these oils.

Ferrari put out a bulletin changing the recommended lubricants to Shell products instead of AGIP.

Some of the pros think the Shell GL5 lubricant burns too easily and recommend the Redline instead. Valvoline synthetic GL5 works fine in my 575M.
