Thanks to all for the spot on info, looks like unplugging the cat ecu's (all three) has fixed the issue. Now I just have to decide if I want to buy those hyper-flow cats and new cat ecu's or not. Would be nice to have a street legal three five five.

Don't think of it that way as that is not the case. It eliminated a symptom for the time being.

""My plan is to try to just unplug cat ecu's permanently, not fix the CEL and SDL bulbs and either register car in a non-emissions county""

Do what you want with the SD ECU's only if you are running test pipes. This "plan" has a high risk/cost ratio as the 355 engine doesn't tolerate improper running parameters for long. If the only issues driving the CEL are the SD ECU's then that changes the equation. Do NOT mount any Cats on that car until all of the problems are addressed, they do nothing to 'solve' problems. They are a Dumb component at the end of a chain and unless everything is right in front of them... they are destined to failure. Cats failing on the 5v engine have yet again a whole host of issues you don't want to be a part of.

Changed my oil today first time, no problems, was very fun. Mobile 1 15w50, this was previous type used according to maint records. removed 7 quarts, added 9.5, almost to full mark while running.

Here are my engine codes before unplugging the 3 cat ecu's, and after:

before: (and my interpretation [may not be valid interpretation])
    P0432 : Bad cat or o2 sensors bank 2
    P0422 : Bat cat or o2 sensors bank 1
    P1691 : someone's unplugged the CEL bulb
P1449 : cat ecu or thermocouple bank 2
P1445 : cat ecu or thermocouple bank 1
P1448 : cat ecu is unplugged bank 2
P1447 : cat ecu is unplugged bank 1
    P1129 : too rich bank 2
    P1127 : too rich bank 1

after (all previous and 1 additional)
P1454 : you've unplugged the bypass valve cat ecu

Looks like I'll just need to monitor my engine codes with my laptop while I'm running like this. I figure maybe 5-6000 usd to fix all the codes, using the 2200 set of high bypass cats. Running good today though, top out.

If you are still running test pipes that would the the main reason for the majority of those codes. I bet you can find a set of "good" used 355 cats for sale on fleabay, or the like.

If you wana get rid of the CEL, I would start with a set of cats and go from there.
