I was at a dyno day and the US distributor for Grouppe M showed up with it and installed it. It gained 24 whp on the dyno from what I remember and looks sounds awesome. The 355 owner bought it on the spot. I know they make very high quality and very expensive products for NSX. I think the distributor Alex is on this forum and owns a silver 355.

24hp gain at the wheels is pretty damn impressive. Would be curious what the dyno charts look like...as long as there is no big dip in the torque curves down low, that would be a nice upgrade.

What is the current retail on that part? $3k?

$3,280 is the retail, NAPerformance has it for $2,999.99.

I rarely talk to SP-E but I'll try ringing them up sometime and requesting the chart so I can post it up here.

btw Martin if you're interested in this intake sooner then later let me know and I can switch your order as it'd be pointless getting two intakes. You'll also get your invoice around 8:00 central.

    Take Care,
    Kevin

Thanks Kevin I love the way you are always aware of the customers orders and whats happening I saw the Gruppe on your site and thought that I would see what the Board members thought do you have any other data that supports the product ?

I've driven a 355 with this intake and tubi...

Very beautiful result - Compared to stock, you can hear the car breath and at low rpms the sound is even nicer.
The exhaust is just the finishing touch. :)

    Martin,

I recently got a Gruppe M distributor so I haven't been selling the products for long. So far everyone I've spoken with however has loved their products. Either way I will try to call somebody at SP-E tommorow to get a dyno chart for you if possible. Perhaps whenever I have time this evening I may even be able to pull up some sound clips and videos so you can hear the differences in sound some others on here are claiming.

But regardless of the horsepower claims and sound changes I would buy this product simply because of how much it cleans up the engine bay. I don't know about you guys but I'd have an ear to ear grin looking at an F355 engine with that beautiful carbon fiber intake.

Thanks for the kind words also Martin, I try to be as active as possible in this community and to me this is something I truly enjoy.

    Regards,
    Kevin

No problem, I'll keep you updated via email.

If anyone else has experience with the Gruppe M on the F355 I'd love to hear the results!

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Kevin, check with BOB f355, he has gruppe m and has had it for a long time. Told me it helped throttle response for sure when I was looking. John

24 rwhp from an intake? Is Ferrari's design that bad? I can't imagine an intake giving that kind of gain..........

    Robin,

Same here had it been just about anyone else I would have raised the BS flag but Alex from SP-E is about as reputable as you can get. SP-E has one of the best reputations in the industry and I wouldn't question them twice, I'll ring them tommorow though and verify the dyno gains and try to get a graph.

    Regards,
    Kevin

It is surprising, and I would like to see the dyno charts...but it is interesting that a number of upgrades that can be easily done that show measurable increases.

I saw in a ricer magazine show how a stock 300Z could gain 6hp just by adding these heavy gauge ground wires to various items...One was an additional ground from the the alternator to engine oil pan, others were placed on or adjacent to the ECU's, intake manifold, and valve cover. Basically improving the ground path for the various sensors and computers. But is was verifiable and repeatable during testing.

With the crappy electrics in a Ferrari, there has to be improvements from this on a 355.

Hot damn. Well if that turns out to be accurate I may just order one... Definitely keep us posted NAPerformance. Would be interested in seeing another car dyno'd with them just to be sure it's no fluke or some factory rep half-throttle dyno trick :)

I have the GruppeM for several years on my 95 F355. Made a difference in throttle response and torque. I put on the Hyperflow and the car is really responsive.

    Kevin,

If you can post the dyno reflecting a true 24 rwhp gain, I will place an order ASAP.

    Thanks. Tim

    Tim,

I'll see what I can do but if all you're wanting is a 24whp gain* you can allways just order a set of the NAPerformance F355 manifolds :).

    Regards,
    Kevin

*Peak gain of 15whp, gains throughout the powerband were larger though nearing 25whp.

As soon as I can get a set or a car to base them off. I'm speaking with Trent of Ferrari of Central Florida as he as a set that I may be able to borrow but he just left for a Challenge Race up North. Allan Fiedler also offered me his but he never responded back to my email regarding a price.

Many are anxiously waiting, I just can't afford to spend $7k on a set of new ones and get stuck with them!

    Regards,
    Kevin

Kevin, what information can you provide me about your Koenig-Specials exhaust for the 512 TR in terms of sound, weight and performance? Do you have anything to replace the pre-cats for the 512TR? Thanks, Lloyd

    Lloyd,

I rarely sell Koenig-Specials products just because they are so hard to get over here in the states and there is somewhat of a wait on them. If you're still interested in the exhaust and are willing to wait I will be more then happy to provide information but I really recommend the Capristo exhausts. They are my top seller right now. I could even make an exhaust for the 512TR if any interest was there.

As far as anything to replace the pre-cats let me check my catalogs tommorow to see if I can pull up any specific part numbers. If I can't I'll call around and see what I can do. Expect a PM from me tommorow noon-evening.

    Regards,
    Kevin
