Hi, I hope someone can help me my door lock problems. whilst on a trip to le mans i locked the doors by key (so as not to activate the alarm) from the passenger side. isuspect this was the first time that the passenger door lock has ever been used. Now i am left with a problem..... Whilst i can unlock the drivers door, the passenger lock won't budge. It all sounds like it is trying, the button seems to want to move but doesn't come uo far enough. Typically i would take off the door panel to sort out a lock - but can't as door won't open!!! any help would be most appreciated as my mrs is fed up of climbing over the door, dukes of hazard style!
I've got a 91 348 ts, I was searching various threads because yesterday when I opened the driver's door the sollenoids started going crazy, pop, pop, pop.... When I closed the driver's door the doors locked, fortunately top off. The driver's side will open to the key but the passenger side is locked, period. Be interesting to see what kind of responses you get cause I'm looking for the same info. By the way, just got the car in April, first Ferrari for me
I have a $20 bill that says if you open your drivers side door, look in the jamb at the hose that the wire passes in, peel it back from where it goes on the screw in connector you will find at least 1 (more like several) frayed or broke wires. That IS causing the "rapid fire" locking on your 348. Let me know what you see once you peel back "hose" from connector end.. Chris
Chris, Thanks a bunch for the response. Bad news is that I checked the wiring the last time I had electrical problems then hard wired the driver's side door. The good news is, this afternoon when I got in the car the door locks worked fine! If it is a recurring problem I'll have to go back into the driver's side wiring and make sure that one of the solderd connections hasn't let go. Have you ever heard anything about the console lock/unlock buttons may be jamming after being used? I almost never touch the console buttons but it would certainly be possible that I bumped one of them earlier and didn't realize it. I'm not ecstatic about the "wait and see if it happens again" approach but this time I may use it. Brian
I would lean to thinking door related. Check the passengers side jamb also. Reason being is mine did this prior to repair of the pin connectors Chris
