    Hi guys!

    First post do here goes!!!

I put a deposit on a 355 Berlinetta this week (red of course!) :)
    So excited!!!

Anyway which would you say is the better car a GTS or a GTB (Berlinetta)?

I'm guessing the GTB is more ridgid and therefore better handling and less rattle e.t.c....?
The GTS has the benefit of the removable roof and hence the wind through the hair effect which is also nice!

Would be interesting to hear what people think??

Look forward to chatting some more over the coming months!

I have had both, its not an easy choice. I would say if you are going to mostly track the car, hard top otherwise the removable top is a very nice feature. Congrats and I believe your steering wheel is on the RIGHT side :)

For those that have had (or do have) a GTS, are there noticable rigidity issues w/ these? If so, is it w/ the roof out only? I know that w/ the 430 the reviews say that there is hardly any diff (spider vs. coupe), but would like to hear opinions on 355 GTS vs. GTB.

I have been told that there is a noticable difference in the rigidity of the spider and the GTB, and that the GTS is much closer to the spider. For me, I am going GTB because I am an all-or-nothing kind of guy, and I am not looking for an open top. Plus, rattles do get to me, so that's another thought.

    Nice red 355!

One question, your steering wheel is not with an airbag which begs another question why? Is this your intended purchase? I have a GTS and the odd squeak from the roof is easily fixed with the correct lube. Roof off noise is fantastic. Unless you are a serious racer do not worry about chasis stiffness. regards Tony

The B is the pure form of the car and cheaper, too, but I am prejudiced. I happen to be pretty sensitive to chassis flex. Some people don't seem to notice.

Frari - yes this is my new purchase (deposit on it waiting for delivery...)
The earlier years (up until 1997 i believe but please correct me if i'm wrong) don't come with airbags. After that year both driver and passenger airbags were introduced. Not sure if this is all Ferarris or just uk spec ones?

All US 355's have airbags. 348's after 1989 had motorized seatbelts which were the dumbest, abonimable apparatus ever installed in a car courtesy of US gov. regulations.

I have a '98 GTS F1. If I knew then what I know now, I would have gone with a Berlinetta. The GTS has much too much flex for my taste.

I never hear anyone complaining about how much a spyder flexes.
What constitutes "too much flex", and how are you assessing/concluding this on a road car?
