I am still looking for a red/tan 355 GTS. My budget keeps rising by the week. I am getting desparate and feel I might buy one that's not perfect to my tastes. I almost bought a spider with a red interior!!

I've been eyeing this one for a while:

Needs a major. Valve guides and header issues not resolved. I placed a bid of $75k and it has not hit reserve. Do you think it's worth any more??

    I would appreciate any leads.

Without the guides, that is the highest I would ever go. Assuming all else is up to snuff.

I saw that one. Something is very strange about that dealership. They told me it was sold. They said a guy came in, paid cash and drove off with it. I called a week later because it still showed as available on autotrader, cars.com, and their own website (and it still does). They said there was a deposit on it but the deal wasn't final. I drove to the dealership to make sure I'm second on the list if the buyer backs out. I left a deposit. The sales manager said I had a good chance of getting it because the first buyer was acting very flakey. I was very excited. I called every other day to get an update. They kept saying they're gonna get the paperwork started for me. Finally after a week, they said the original buyer picked it up.

I'm not sure what their deal is. They haven't even refunded my CC for the deposit yet... even after I called and reminded them.

I had the same issue with a dealer while looking for a 348 SS! Same thing, not sure if the other guy is picking it up after he placed a deposit, but they would sell it to me for a higher price even though the other guy put a deposit?!?!? Then its sold.. but still on the website. Anonymously called and its still for sale?!?! Very weird... then said that the original owner (was on consignment) changed his mind and does not want to sell anymore?!?!? A month later it is still on the website for sale??

I am so glad I did not get it though! Found a much better one at a Ferrari Dealership and bought it. It is arriving on Friday!! So I think it's a good thing that you did not end up with it... those mysterious issues are usually a front for something negative!

Good luck with your search. The one posted above by Nizam looks gorgeous!!!

Good luck on your search, but you are starting to see the light, its gonna cost a little more to get the right car. I keep reading that the search is half the fun, its fun but its not has much has firing it up the first time in your driveway and going for a ride!

There's one at Ferrari of Washington (DC) that is nice but not worth their asking price.
Sorry if its the one in the link, but the cars.com website is down right now.
