GTS model was the lowest produced of the 3 variations. Later models (98-99) even harder due to Spider production increasing every year. It is the rarest of them all. I believe the production numbers are GTS 2,048 GTB 2,663 and Spider 3,938.Good luck in your search.

I appreciate the insight, im a little dissappointed that 12 people looked at my post without answering. I just like the convertible concept without the actual cloth top. Plus I hear it can make noise when you hit certain speeds.

Too bad you didn't pounce on Admac's GTS. He had it for practically a give-away price up until a couple of weeks ago. Timing is everything.

But, if you like the 355GTS, you'd probably like the 348TS better - it will cost you far less to both buy and maintain, and the average joe on the street corner would never know the diff.

Difference in numbers produced between spiders and GTS models is not as great as you would think. My source for production of 355's lists GTS 2048, spider 2663 and the GTB 5133.
I would be interested to know how many GTS models came to the US as opposed to spiders and GTB's.

Dont be, thats how it is around here some times. Some times many by-pass the subject due to that they dont know anything about the subject to some who just cant be arsed or ignorant;)
BUT when the ball starts rolling then most jump on board and away your thread goes some times taking diverse directions and going of at all angles:D. Its a strange phenomenon;) Welcome also.

Certainly better than 12 idiots trying to tell you what they would do instead.

According to the 355 Registry numbers, only 1 355GTS was imported in 1994, and only 34 in 1995 (I have one of those). I had initially heard it was a very low number, like 25, but the Registry sheds more light on this. More came in from 1996 - 1999. Its a FABULOUS car, and worth searching for.

That one in LA on craigslist is perfect, just worried about the exhaust manifold at 30,000 miles. The headers melting together just scares the crap out of me. Might have to go with a tubi eventually, because the factory won't correct the issue (idoits). Just a question is their some kind of wrap or special heat resisting cloth you can apply to the headers to work around this issue?

The 355 is a fantastic car (sorry, but we could butt heads in the search...) but there are more issues to be aware of than just manifolds, and there are no preventive modifications you can do to the manifolds. IMO, you can pull the cats and replace with test pipes, as I believe that the manifolds fail when the cats wear out and overheat.

A PPI is essential unless you really know the cars and get a good first hand look. Even then you better reallyknow the cars. Leakdown and compression is critical. If the major is getting ready to be done, it's not such a big deal (valve guids will add 2k to the bill) but if you have to repeat the major, that's going to hurt.

Jeez will you 348 dudes get a grip? He was asking about 355's not the 348. The 355 is the car the 348 should have been. period. better in all the most important areas by a long way.

I'll give him the benefit.... since I'm sure he would only make such a black and white statement after having owned and lived with each of them
