Looking at possibly pulling the trigger on a 1996 355 Spider. I've been reading up on some of the known issues. Just a couple of questions and concerns.

    1. Header failure- Looking at Fabspeed options. Does the engine have to be pulled completely out to replace the factory headers?

    2. HP fuel line- Is there a good replacement line that will not rupture?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The engine doesn't need to come out in order to replace the headers. The left header can just be unbolted and removed. On the right side, the oil cooler fan and cooler, hoses to and from the oil cooler and oil dry sump tank must be removed in order to make enough clearance to get the right header out.

Which fuel line are you talking about? It looks like all of the fuel lines are still available from Ferrari. What is wrong with your original line? A good hydraulic hose shop should be able to fabricate a new hose using your original fittings.

Thanks Motob, I am considering purchasing this 355 Spider. All I know is what Ive read about high pressure fuel lines possibly rupturing. How many are there? Also, two years ago the compression numbers were 1.200lbs., 2.200lbs., 3.210lbs.,4.200lbs.,5.210lbs.,6.200lbs.,7.200lbs.,8.205lbs. Are these good numbers?
    Thanks

I think you mean the hoses to and from the oil cooler must be removed, but the sump tank can stay in place while the its lower hose is removed. The right angle mid-way up the tank stays in place.

Whats the issue on the fuel line?

There was a recall issued for the fuel block. Was this done on this car?

I haven't heard about or read about fuel lines just failing from bursting or rupturing for no reason as if it was just bad and over time it failed.

More like the line rubbed on a clamp or something else and failed, and thats why the recall was issued.
