    Martin,

Are you asking how much they get for the install?

Most will prob charge 6 Hrs. labor at whatever their labor rate is plus gskts and a header. The headers vary by version.

List price for one factory exhaust manifold is $3100 according to my old service records...unsure on labor..plus add $ for gaskets and nuts.

I think you should read through the following thread:

There is a lot of information in there regarding alternative choices. The conventional wisdom has been that direct factory replacements don't solve the basic design problem with the headers, so you wind up having the problem again in the future. However, the rebuilt headers from QV London, or aftermarket from MVPeurosport, NAPerformance, etc apparently *DO* solve the problem. I believe the QV London approach was the least expensive, the others advertise various benefits.

I think he's saying $3,100 is for the 5.2 version since his car is a 97.

I don't know if it is normally required, but we took the oil tank out on the passenger side...I think 6 hours is entirely reasonable charge. It took THREE of us (and me more of a "helper" than a wrencher) 8 hours to do both sides, doing a slow, careful job, with a couple breaks for lunch and to the auto parts store.

It took me about 3 hrs to do my rightside but, mine is a challenge car and the exhaust isn't quite as confined. I didn't need to remove my oil tank but again the ch cars have a slightly different tank but, did have to remove the fan on that side. Just a side note to Dave's cost on manifolds I paid 2026.00 2yrs ago for a new one from GT car parts (2.7)although I don't think that is the way to go today with choices we have now with after market pieces. Regards, Vern

Right Vern...when I replaced my manifolds, I installed rebuilt QV London one's...made from thicker, higher grade stainless steel. The oem replacements done on my car, was a back in 02 , by the previous owner.

Nope, they reuse the flanges at each end (including the air injection rails), and the heatshields. Since they reuse the heatshields, the bends have to be exactly like factory. They replace the tubes with new, thicker stainless steel, of a higher grade (forget which, but they explained the differences) and install new CO ports, just like the factory.

Fit and install went just fine...no problems at all.
