Don't know how far you've gone with this project but the CH front wiring harness is not set up for street assemblies....dash harness is also different but don't know if this effects power distibution to front fuse box but most likely does.

I have a set of new lifting motors for sale. They were removed from a '95 challenge car when we installed the blank buckets, back in '97 or '98.

    Heres the link:

Adam you must have taken a street car and installed the CH conversion pkg......the factory built CH car that I removed the front wiring harness from did not have electrical for pop-up lights. So I guess if Chris's car was a conversion car(not factory built) he may have wiring and connectors to install pop-up light system.

I believe mine is a conversion as I can see all the wiring harnesses available for side markers, headlights etc. Including all relays and fuses. Mine has the a/c bracket too....

    Bruce,
What year Challenge car are you working on?

It wasn't till '98 that the cars came fully pre-preped from Michelloto. The "factory built" challenge cars in '95 were imported with all the US. DOT / EPA homologated safety and emissions equipment. They were imported as road cars, so they couldn't be sent over with the kits installed at the factory. The harness bungs and cage mounting platforms were installed by the factory. The kits were installed in the US, by FNA or the selling dealer. '96 none were imported and '97, '98 they were imported as race cars, not for hwy use, sold with an MSO and no title.

In '97 I installed the kit on the last '95 "factory Challenge" car FNA sold. I t was sold to L. Kenyon of Boulder CO. He took delivery of it at Ferrari of Beverly Hills and drove it to Ferrari of San Francisco, where I installed the challenge kit.

For '98 we installed '98 challenge update kits, wing, steering rack, trans cooler, etc. These kits included blanked out headlamp buckets to replaced the road car buckets and deleted the lights and lifting motors. Up till '98 they came with lights and lifting motors, built on the same assy line as the road cars. The '98 cars that were prepped for the factory by Michelloto came from Italia with the delete buckets installed in Padova....

FWIW I have a factory '97 CH with the '98 update kit and it has the wiring for the head lights. My wiring harnesses have Delhi number tags that state"USA Challenge" But I think it is referring to the air bag issue ie; there is no wiring for airbags that I could see.
Adam did the '98 cars have the front relay panel on the left hand side in the trunk? If so I would suspect a person could attach the light harness.

On another note Adam you might remember my car. Your name is on some of my service records as "Service Advisor". I bought my car from Giacomo Mattioli
in 2002 when it was at FoBH. At the time it was at FoSF Jong Wha Kim raced the car in the '98 season. I was fortunate enough to get all the records on my car down to the original MSO and factory invoice. The history on these cars is interesting to read, at least for my car anyway.

If memory serves me correct, the left relay panels were in place on the '98 chall. cars when they were delivered.

I remember your car very well. I did the original prep on it and installed the '98 kit on it as well. It was in my care at FoSF for a while, then it went down to FoBH where Grazziano continued to care for it.

From the begining Jong Wah campaigned it with the FoBH banner, this was his local dealer. At its debut race at TWS I had the window banner made to read, "Ferrari of 90210".... The TV show was very popular at the time. During this period, FoSF and FoBH were owned and operated by Ferrari SPA and we ran cars with both banners in the same camp.

Where are you and my old friend located?

    Hi Adam,

Went and dug up the wiring harnesses off the CH....after doing a close-up hands on inspection it appears that someone had modified and deleted all non-essential wires and connectors from the front and dash wiring looms.

I then went and rechecked the update pkg for 99CH and did notice new PN's for the front(172955..which is same PN for 5.2 regular street car)) and dash(173696...for CH only..USA version).

Seeing now from the parts manual that the CH is using the same front wiring harness as a regular street car, the factory and converted cars did have all necessary hook-ups for street car light system. The harness I have then is definitely not factory and was modified by someone other than Ferrari.....thanks Adam for clearing up the mess.

I believe Vern has the reason for new PN for CH dash harness....must be just a delete for air bag connection although the one I have has deleted wiring and connectors for any and all door electronics....again this appears to be a customer modification.

    Thanks again Adam.

    Regards
    Bruce
