    Hey guys and gals,
I've got an issue that I'm really puzzled with. My 95 355 is having fits where it seems as though there is an issue with the ignition system, somewhere. As I'm driving along I suddenly lose power and the car seems to be in "limp home mode". There are no lights coming on on the dash. I replaced both ignition coils with no improvement. The funny thing about this is that if I right away shut the engine down, pull the key out and restart it, whatever is fouling up resets and I get full power again. Any Ideas?

Had exactly that problem for two years. Tried eveything. When it went into limp mode , if I shut it down and restart problem was gone for awhile but would randomly come back. The cats were not everheating because it happened once on a 40 degree day after driving the car for one block.I disconnected my cat ecu and have not a problem for 3000 mi and over a year. I have a 95. Disconnect the cat ecu and your problem will go away. I did not get any slow down lights.

I'm sooo stupid!! I did that years ago when I was having the same problem and it worked!! I recently had my major service done, and I bet my mechanic re-connected those damn ecu's.
