I'm working with Goth as quickly as possibly to get these. We'll offer them as a standalone item (pair), and bundled with a set of CV boots. As soon as I've got them, they'll be on our website.

(And yes lotusk, no problem sending internationally)

Looking forward to making another order from Ricambi.

While not the official installation instructions for the Goth CV Boot shield, here's a pictorial on how we installed it a couple weekends ago on my car.

Picture 1: OK, ok the first picture is a shameless plug, but you really have to look at your engine bay and take out all the parts that will be in the way. Such as the airboxes, and the side panels.

Picture 2: So with everything out of the way, you have a better view of the highly inadequate, crappily designed and made factory shields. By the way, I would highly advice that you keep these factory shields as rumor has it that they are made out of highly exotic italian fiberglass and costs $350 apiece!

Picture 3: Using an appropriately sized socket wrench (mine was a 12 mm bolt size, YMMV though) undo the factory retaining bolts and remove the factory shield. Keep in a safe place and lock it up as you will never have to see it again.

Picture 4: So this is how a naked still-healthy CV boot will look like.

More shots of the installed shield...

In the third picture down, the arrow indicates an exhaust flange that might need to be rotated to get a bit more clearance with the shield. On mine, we had to rotate the driver's side primary cat flange on the header to get more clearance. It is a pretty close fit, as there isn't much room to squeeze in between the header and the CV boot. But you don't really need a lot of room, as the header and motor moves as a single unit. There wasn't any vibration or rattles when we started and drove the car around after the install.

The layout of the cats and associated pipework is a lot different in my Euro M2.7....gonna be more work to fit these new shields i believe.

If your euro 2.7 uses the stock CV shields, the new goth shields will fit. Instructions are included to help with installation. However if you are refering to the method of threading them into position, then most likely you will need to remove the air boxes for better access. .... :)

    Nice

Yes they will fit...but it is tight under there.

    Great product.....
You reckon this really will allow the boots to last a few years?

Seeing as how the outer boots are not suffering the same fate as the inner boots ..... the SS shields will absolutely extend the service life of the inner boots ...... as they will no longer be exposed to direct heat radiation from the catalytic converters ...... :)

    Cool then
    Great stuff

Can you work on a new design for a proper and safe fuel pipe connecting the filler neck to the petrol tank?

I think dave helms makes a replacement rubber piece for the 355 fuel filler tube, that is made with a better material ...... however a heatshield for that filler tube is not a bad idea .... ;)
