Is there a trick to installing the tow hook I to the front bumper? Mine doesn't want to catch any threads. Maybe it's too big? Wrong tow hook? Fits perfectly in the tool kit though. Tow truck driver in the way. Help!

The bolt hole inside the bumper needs to be re-threaded...
    Happens from rust, wear, etc...

348s and 355s have different threads. Maybe yours is the wrong one.

If all else fails, you can have it towed from the back. That's what I had to resort to, Good luck.

Is it the stock tow hook that came in the tool kit or one of the Challenge or aftermarket tow hooks? 348 and 355 tow hooks should be M16 x 2 pitch thread. If it won't thread, then you either have damaged threads or a M16 x 1.5 (or some other pitch) tow hook.

Are you sure? I was under the impression that both 348s and 355s used M16 x 2 pitch threads for tow hooks. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure, for example, that the 348 and 355 Challenge front tow hooks are interchangeable.

I'm pretty sure that happens when the car is driven in the rain and water penetrates the rubber gromet that plugs the hole for the tow hook....
the threads rust and wont secure the tow hook correctly. I've seen it happen on a neglected F355....

When developing our new lightweight Aluminum tow hooks, I found I had to buy an M16 x 2 tap and clean out the threads on the car in order to even get the factory tow hook in a garage kept car - the tow hook receiver has no cover from the factory to prevent moisture from taking it's toll over the years. Also seems as if the tow hook is ever used, the anti-corrosion coating is worn off.

Corrosion and rust was the culprit indeed. They're going to clean it out for me. Car was very well kept and maintained. It was just rusty enough to not let the threads through. Thanks for the help everyone!

How did you end up getting the car on the flatbed?

There were two tow points covered by caps towards the rear of the car on both sides. We used several blocks to get the front end high enough so it wouldn't scratch the bumper. Not easy! But we got it there safe and sound. Porterfield pads and Michelin Supersports going on tomorrow, very excited!

Bought a 355 tow hook from Ricambi. Took off the outside round piece of rubber that covers the front tow hook opening and the hole is very shallow and there seems to be a rubber stopper about a half inch into the opening. Is that supposed to be there? No mention in the owners Manuel.
